Zenith Insurance Services’ reputation as one of Australia’s most youthful, energetic and creative insurance broking houses was endorsed by industry peers on Friday 3 May with a big win at the 2019 Insurance Business Awards (IBA) in Sydney.
Owner Kim Gilbert beat eight high calibre finalists to claim the award for Insurance Broker of the Year – Independent (>20 Staff).

Organised by Key Media, publishers of Insurance Business, the IBA is a prestigious event that recognises leading brokers and brokerages for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months. This year’s celebrations saw over 530 insurance professionals gather at The Star Sydney to witness the presentation of 30 awards.
Mr Gilbert said the win demonstrated Zenith’s remarkable rise as one of Australia’s leading boutique insurance brokers.
“Our team will treasure this award after another extraordinary year delivering confidence above all else,” he said. “We’ve come a long way since 2001, growing from a small office in Western Australia to work alongside clients in every state and territory.
“Zenith is all about refusing to stand still. Our mantra is to be agile and move forward confidently, always growing our knowledge, changing, evolving and taking clients along for the ride.”
This refreshing approach has seen Zenith develop an impressive portfolio of corporate and commercial clients with a range of products and services tailored to the unique needs of specialist niche markets including Aged Care, Transport, Indigenous, Community, Commercial/Business and Construction. And with the backing of Steadfast, Australia’s largest autonomous insurance broker cluster group, Zenith has the buying power to access the unique products and services that make it all possible.
Mr Gilbert said going above and beyond ‘just’ insurance was the secret to Zenith’s success.
“We want to give our customers complete confidence knowing that we’re always there for them, not just when things go wrong. A big part of that promise is to act as an extension of our clients’ organisations. We aren’t happy to simply exist as an external service provider – we want to become one of the team.
“It’s all about developing strategic long term partnerships with our clients. We make it our business to know our clients’ businesses, proactively looking out for their interests, getting the best price in the marketplace. But that’s really just the beginning.
“We fully immerse ourselves in the organisations we work with, going the extra mile to provide ongoing support throughout the year, always looking for new ways to get involved in their fundraising and awareness initiatives.
“We want our clients to know we’re all in. If donning the apron and grilling a few sausages at a client sausage sizzle is what it takes to deliver confidence above all else, we’ll do it.
“It’s insurance with assurance – that’s the Zenith way.”
